Cumulus Subsea Valve Tracker is a connected app for O&G operators and IMR service providers for structured live tracking and communication of the open/close status of sub-sea valves enabling improved visibility and integrity unlike today's makeshift methods.

Consultation with operators and contractors revealed the need for a sophisticated solution to the simple problem encountered on many IMR projects – reliable communication of valve status between operator and installation vessel.  During sub-sea campaigns there is often a need for manual ROV actuation of valves from contractor alongside remote actuation from the offshore facility.  Today spreadsheets are emailed back and forth between facility and vessel as valve movements are made.  Alternatively unsecured marine radio may be used to broadcast valve moves.  These methods are considered outdated by users, but no better solution is available.

Cumulus Projects has developed a robust solution which can handle the complexity of unreliable offshore communications, in an easily accessible and intuitive format.  Cumulus Subsea Valve Tracker can be used on an adhoc basis for simple one-off campaigns or configured by O&G operators as a complementary reproduction populated with all of the details of their subsea infrastructure assets.  Initial configuration is easy with an intuitive spreadsheet interface.  Campaigns can then be executed with the assistance of 2D and 3D visualisations by way of interactive schematic drawings and P&IDs of the sub-sea structures 3D models of assets.
